Ben Burchill currently holds the position of Director of Technical Operations at Sparklight/CableONE, the 6th largest MSO in America.  As National DTO, Ben leads over 850 technical associates across 21 states through strategic policy and procedures as they serve more than 900,000 business and residential customers. In addition, Ben has direct oversight responsibilities for the National Dispatch Center, as well as sharing responsibility for headend and OSP across the MSO.
Starting as a Drop Bury Technician in Fargo ND in 2001, Ben has enjoyed a steady career progression including transferring to New Mexico as a Tech Supervisor, to Idaho as a Technical Operations Manager, and to Tennessee as a General Manager. Many of you know Ben today as the Director of Technical Operations in Sparklight’s Phoenix Corporate office.
Ben has a reputation of consistently delivering strong results including the coordination of Sparklight’s first EPON fiber-to-the-home deployment in New Mexico in 2006.  In his role as a Technical Operations Manager in Idaho, he recognized improvement opportunities and led the system to the top of the organization.  As a GM in Tennessee, he rallied the team to similar success.
Ben has too many interests to mention.  You would think raising three sons and one daughter (all under 11 years old) with his wife Jaysee would keep him busy enough, but Ben is also an active beekeeper, skier, hunter, fisher, gardener, and scuba diver.  He and his family are also active in his church, with humanitarian aid mission trips to Sudan, Uganda, and more. He is also an accomplished potato-gun designer, but that’s a story for another day.
Ben currently holds a BS in Business Management, an MBA from the University of Nebraska, and has completed an Executive Program from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza Business College.
